These can be used for jams and jellies and provide seasonal interest and winter décor!
An Easy Elegance® Shrub Rose, this is a delightfully easy-to-grow and highly disease resistant flowering ornamental! Blooming from early summer through fall, this own root Shrub Rose is hardy down to USDA growing zone 3 to 8 and readily springs to life from the roots to reach its 2-4 foot height and 2-3 foot width each year!
The upright habit makes this a go-to Rose for informal hedges! Use as a backdrop to perennial gardens, or in rows along your front property line to separate your yard from the sidewalk. Ideal for planting before evergreens so the white and yellow blooms can really show off, Oscar Peterson™ really shows off and brings a fun jazzy element to the landscape!
Easy Elegance® Roses are the epitome of easy care and hardy resistance! Plant them in those tricky sunny spots around the yard and watch them perform beautifully! The sunny, cheerful blooms are sure to brighten your day! Plant in cottage gardens and pollinator borders, along pathways and around birdbaths for a delightful array of garden visitors and wildlife. Birds love to nest and shelter in the dense branching and even eat the seeds from the Rosehips, which in turn also help fight the bleak winter landscape with their orangey color.
Easy Elegance® Landscape Roses are easy to grow! Plant these modern Roses where they’ll get plenty of air circulation and full sun. Morning sun is best, and they’ll need at least six or more hours of sunlight a day. Plant in well-drained soil that doesn’t stay soggy after rainfall and plant with some Nature Hills Root Booster to help your Roses live strong with the symbiotic relationship beneficial fungi have with tiny feeder roots – lasting the life of the plant!
Provide a consistent yet moderate amount of water throughout the growing season and try to only water at the base of the plant, rather than wet the foliage. Spread a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to help reduce dirt splashing onto the leaves. This helps reduce the spread of disease and keeps your foliage clean.
In early spring and mid-summer, apply a slow-release fertilizer for flowering plants. Follow the application rates on the label, please. Prune own-root Roses down to eight inches in early spring just as they start to wake back up. Even the coldest winters will only kill the tops, but then regrow from the roots as good as ever!
