Fruits Fit for an Emperor!

If you want the most unique fruit tree on the block, look no further than the Emperor Lychee Tree.

Its delicious fruits and exotic looks are just one of many reasons to get this tree…

• Compact size fits in many landscapes
• Great container plant
• Can grow indoors
• Nutritional powerhouse
• Produces by the second year

The Emperor Lychee Tree will stand out in any garden design with its tropical look and scents similar to roses. By mid-summer, you’ll be greeted by cluster after cluster of golf-ball sized lychees nestled on emerald pointed leaves. This will be the most unique harvest you ever have!

Delicious and Nutritious

One taste of the lychee fruit will make you realize why they are so expensive in the grocery store. Biting into the soft fruit reveals both a milky and sweet texture. It’s great for salads , desserts, and even added to smoothies.

It’s best to refrigerate the lychee after picking unless you’re eating them right off the tree. The lychee fruit is also excellent frozen (up to 3 months) and tastes very similar to sorbet! Despite the rich taste, the lychee is great for the body. The fruit has no cholesterol or saturated fats, and it is high in Vitamin B and C.

Simple Care

The Emperor Lychee Tree needs protection from wind, but it loves the full sun. It prefers a well-drained slightly acidic soil. Apply a well-balanced organic fertilizer several times in the growing season for higher fruit yield. Pests and disease rarely come calling, just make sure to keep the plant watered, but never allow it to have “wet feet”. And pruning is a cinch. Cut back about 6” after harvest time and watch the bounty come alive the next year!

At Home Anywhere

The tree is royal in name, but practices simple adaptable living. If you live up north, the Emperor Lychee is well-suited to a container and will add flair to any patio or porch. You can even grow inside as long as you have a south-facing window and optional supplemental grow lights. If you live in growing zone 9 and below, you can plant the Emperor right in the ground and watch it become the focal point of your garden!
