Smaller than most yuccas, Excalibur Yucca is a favorite for smaller gardens and containers. Growing 12-24 in. tall with a 36-48 in. spread, this native cultivar has a tidy, clump-forming habit. Its blue-green, blade-like leaves are accented by curling white filaments. In early to midsummer, white, bell-shaped flowers open above the foliage. Both deer resistant and drought tolerant, once established, Excalibur Yucca adds textural interest to perennial gardens or rock gardens. For best results, plant this perennial in full sun to partial shade and in well-drained soil. Excalibur will tolerate a wide variety of soils, including dry soils, if they are well drained. Zones 5-10.
