Just provide a well-drained soil location and these beauties adapt greatly to drier locations or moist sites with ease. Prune in late winter or early spring if you need to tidy up the mound, but these are neat growing shrubs on their own and won’t need much in the way of maintenance. In hotter and drier climates, they do appreciate a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over their root systems.
