Pink Dynamo Mountain Hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata JPD01′)

Pink Dynamo Mountain Hydrangea

Unique foliage color, the Pink Dynamo™ Mountain Hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata ‘JPD01’) features hot pink lace-cap flowers and foamy white centers. These fantastic shrubs rebloom from late spring through summer, so you’ll enjoy a long bloom season and returning blossoms for butterflies and floral arrangements. The big florets have fat round petals and mild fragrance!

Pink Dynamo™ is a unique and innovative Hydrangea that features silky purplish-black sheen over textured deep-green foliage, the combo of hot pink, fine-textured, Lacecap blooms and dramatic, dark foliage creates an impact on your garden beds! Pollinators use these long-lasting blooms as fantastic landing pads all summer!

Mountain Hydrangea are more cold-hardy than many other types of their cousins, and Pink Dynamo® can handle a wide range of climates and conditions in Hardiness Zones 5-9. The lacy blooms are self-cleaning and bloom on both new and old wood, but won’t need pruning to maintain their 2-3 feet height and width. Dense and compact, they’re low-maintenance shrubs!

Planting and Application:

Quickly growing into fantastic low hedges and low screening, these lacy, high-impact plants are both formal and informal in style and form! Ideal accents along your foundation plantings, marking the transition between garden bed and lawn and adding immense contrast to mixed-shrub borders.

These specimen plants really stand out! Pink Dynamo™ is perfect for modern Cottage gardens and for updating tired garden beds as a colorful anchor and focal point. Perfectly sized for large planters and porch pots in the dappled sun. Give your pollinators a feast while you have armloads of blooms for bouquets!

Tips for Care:

Mountain Hydrangea does best in full sun in cooler summers and appreciates afternoon shade in hotter climates. Provide evenly moist but well-drained, acidic soils, and Hydrangea love thickly mulched beds. Prune out old flower heads in early spring as they start to grow, allowing young stems to remain and form new blooms.

  • Full Sun & Part Sun
  • Moist Soil – Never Soggy
  • Mulch & Fertile Soil
  • Prune in Early Spring
