‘Pixie Meadowbrite’â„¢ was developed by Dr. Jim Ault of the Chicago Botanic Garden. Denser and a more compact habit than typical coneflowers, this charming, mini-coneflower is a true dwarf.
‘Pixie Meadowbrite’ has hardiness, drought tolerance, and longevity. Echinacea is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall. It is a great choice for cut flowers. Not only is it a prized perennial for many gardeners, but it is also said to be a potent medicine. Echinacea is said to increase the immune function of the body.
If you leave the coneflower seed heads on the plant at the end of the season, they will provide winter interest and food for native songbirds. These coneflowers can be used as accent plants or in mixed borders, open woodlands, and mass plantings.
