Everyone has daydreamed of running through a field of Daisies on a warm summer day at one point or another. There just doesn’t seem to be a better combination than summer and Daisies! Luckily, bringing that feeling to your garden has never been easier, with the Amazing Daisies® Daisy May® Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Daisy Duke’)!

Picture the classic Daisy bouquet. Each blossom is beautifully adorned with pristine white petals bursting from a center with the bright and cheerful color of the sun. This is exactly the picture you’ll be presented with each year as Daisy May® erupts with those stunning blooms! They’re set atop strong stems that can withstand the test of weather with ease. Blooming all summer til fall with just some attentive deadheading

Once the Daisy May® covers itself in flowers, it’ll continue blooming all season long if it is properly deadheaded. No matter what stage the bloom cycle is in though, it is a very pleasing plant to look at as the true green foliage stays appealingly full and doesn’t fade throughout the season. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 through 9, these are adaptable and low-maintenance herbaceous perennials for gardeners of all experience levels.

Planting and Application:

The question isn’t so much what can you do with a Daisy May® in your garden, it’s what can’t you do! These Daisies look incredible as centerpieces in Rock Gardens or accents in a cottage garden. They’ll also do wonderfully as traditional English and cut flower border plants! Create lasting memories for kids as they run sound with fistfuls of flowers and Daisy-chain halos all summer long!

Pot up on your front porch for a cheerful welcome, or plant around a mailbox garden without blocking your view while backing out of your driveway! Your neighbors won’t be the only ones hovering to take in the beauty of Daisy May®, butterflies will also visit in abundance! They’ll love stopping by to rest on a petal and snack on the nectar. Tips for Care:

Taking care of a Daisy May® is very easy but there are a few simple rules to follow. They thrive in full sun but do appreciate some light shade in regions with hot summers. Planting in soil that drains well is essential as overwatering can be quite harmful to these Daisies, especially during the winter months. When it comes to watering, less is more. Water weekly when rainfall is less than an inch, but they will not tolerate excessive moisture or soggy soil in the winter.

Provide a good layer of mulch, at least 3-4 inches around the roots, especially in drier climates, and enrich the soil with plenty of humus and compost. Remove faded flower heads to encourage more blooms and prune the clumps back in late fall when the foliage yellows. Daisy clumps can be divided every few years to promote better growth and vigor.
