The Purple Queen Bougainvillea is one of the brightest flowering vines… period. Drape it over fences, trellises or walls for an incredible show of color. It is smothered with vibrant purple blooms against deep green foliage.
Great as a Potted Plant in Colder Regions
The Purple Queen Bougainvillea thrives in tropical climates (growing zones 9-11) when planted outside. However, it will grow anywhere in the country when planted in a container. Just bring it indoors during the winter… it makes a low-maintenance house plant!
One of the Few Reblooming Vines!
You get your first flood of flowers in the early summer. Then, you get a second wave of blooms in early fall. In warmer climates, you might see a third season of flowers! This is by far the longest blooming season of any bougainvillea vine.
A Very Versatile Plant
The possibilities are endless…
- Use it as a ground cover
- Drape it over a fence
- Plant it upright in a pot
- Train it over a retaining wall or trellis
It’s even drought-resistant. Just give it a long, deep watering when you plant it to establish a good root system. Plant it in full sun and enjoy the show several times a season!
