Roses ‘Joseph’s Coat’ is a multi-colored rose showing blends of various warm colors on its continually blooming flowers. It was bred by Armstrong & Swim in 1964, as a hybrid of R. ‘Buccaneer’ (Yellow grandiflora) and R. ‘Circus’ (Yellow blend floribunda), and got its name for the “coat of many colors” of the biblical character Joseph. Roses ‘Joseph’s Coat’ can be grown as a large climber or as a shrub, and it is quite hardy and robust.

A kaleidoscope of colors, Rosa ‘Joseph’s Coat’ is an eye-catching climbing rose with clusters of large, 4 in. across (10 cm), full flowers (26-40 petals), changing from yellow to scarlet back to orange and carmine. Moderately fragrant, they bloom in flushes from late spring to fall.
This tall climber features a stiff, upright growth with quite thorny stems and lustrous, apple green leaves. Vigorous, this cheerful rose is suitable for fences and arbors.
