Suncatcher Sunflower (Helianthus x SunCatcher’)

Suncatcher Sunflower

Little baskets of sunshine! The adorably sweet Suncatcher Sunflower (Helianthus x ‘SunCatcher’) is a cute, compact version of the towering giant. Smaller, mounded and multi-branched, Suncatcher smothers itself in small bright yellow blooms with the characteristic brown fuzzy centers! These are the perfect landing pads for butterflies and bees!

Free-flowing and low-maintenance mounds of coarse green leaves, these perennials return each year with more and more blooms. Perfect for pots and planters or brightening a perennial garden, these non-stop bloomers are as gloriously bright yellow in the ground as they are filling your vase arrangements indoors!

Suncatcher Sunflower is a beneficial flowering perennial for pollinators and blooms from July until frost to really extend your bloom time and extend food resources for pollinators! You’ll want to plant a few extras so you’ll have plenty to go around!

Planting and Application:

Perfectly sized for planters and patio pots, any sunny location by your front entry or back seating areas gain incredibly cheerful blooms! Balconies and window boxes gain sunny blossoms and focal points! Also ideally sized to be the perfect gift for someone down in the dumps, celebrating a birthday or just bought a new home! Can you think of something more cheerful to welcome you home?

Suncatcher Sunflower brightens perennial and cottage gardens, wildflower beds and naturalized borders, cutting gardens and pollinator plantings alike! There’s nothing like these cheerful blossoms tucked into any smaller location as a specimen or accent among larger shrubs or smaller perennials. Thriving in hot, drier, sunny locations with ease!

  • Smaller Multi-Branched Perennials
  • Dark Green Leaves & Bold Yellow Blooms
  • Pollinator Gardens & Cutting Gardens
  • Beds, Borders, Specimen & Containers
  • Easy-Care & Free-Flowering

Tips for Care:

Suncatcher Sunflower does best in a full sun location but can tolerate some partial shade in the hottest climates, but you’ll see a reduction in blooms and the stems may not be as sturdy. Plant in an enriched location with excellent drainage. Deadhead to keep the blooms returning and cut back in late autumn.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate to Low Fertility Once Established
  • Deadhead Often & Prune Back Late Autumn/Early Winter
