Tips for Care:

Plant this low-care perennial in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration, but too much sun will burn Hosta foliage, especially in hotter summer climates. Best for full shade in hot summers and part sun/part shade locations everywhere else. Perennial Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. A generous layer of arborist mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill. Wait until the leaves have been exposed to frost and have turned brown before removing all leaf litter in late fall.
