  • Ideal Hedge
  • Deer Resistant
  • Cold Hardy

The Boxwood ‘Emerald Jewel’, Buxus microphylla var. koreana, has lush emerald green foliage and is ideal as a hedge or planted in mass.

The ‘Emerald Jewel’ can also be used near water gardens or ponds, in rock gardens, as an accent plant, or border plants.

It is best to mulch to keep the root system cool and moist; the evergreen foliage needs to be protected from drying winds, especially in winter.

When pruning boxwood into a hedge, make sure the bottom is left wider than the top. This allows more light to reach the lower branches and the hedge is less likely to thin at the bottom.

This adorable miniature boxwood is deer and drought tolerant, vigorous, and very winter hardy! Fragrant but inconsequential flowers are creamy-white to yellow in color.
